It’s a good thing that my diet recommends daily intake of raw cane sugar and maple syrup! My homemade granola has changed the face of my breakfast from stressed to excited.
This morning, I not only achieved my goal of planking for 90 seconds, but I also turned up my granola game by several notches. How?
Chocolate. I added chocolate.
Chocolate Granola:
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup raw cane sugar
- 3 cups whole oats
- 1 cup quick-cooking steel cut oats
- 3/4 cup organic cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup organic dark maple syrup
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400° F. Coat bottom of ceramic baking dish with grapeseed oil. Combine dry ingredients in bowl.
Pour in syrup and mix well. Place mixture in dish and place in oven for 45-50 minutes, stirring and turning over every 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and place on cooling rack. Optional: stir in apple chunks and let the cooling heat slowly bake them. Enjoy with or without the following accents: milk, pomegranates, kiwi, blueberries.
Next gym assignment: 2-minute planks.
