184 pounds
Abs. Biceps. Triceps. Quads. Lats and traps.
My New Year’s resolution is lofty: I want visible, high-definiton muscles by the end of the year 2020.
Having completed 56% of my weightloss goal, I am not afraid of making New Year’s resolutions. After all, I’m already over halfway through the biggest battle: lose 80 pounds of unhealthy fat.
March is the month that I expect to achieve my healthy weight range: 149-162. If I can get to 150 pounds by March 21st, well…
Let’s just put it this way: I can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring than to rejoice in God’s goodness. For example, He gave me this dream to be healthy; and the dream will come true, one way or another. After all, I know where I’m ultimately headed. And where He lives, no obesity or sickness of any kind exists.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (KJV): “For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; [12] The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come…”
So, let’s talk about the here and now: what’s a way to start digging those muscles out of the fat?
Planking.
The YMCA is my friend, and I’ve already taken advantage of it’s lovely indoor track. But now, thanks to some recent inspiration I’ve drawn from YouTube before-and-after videos, I’ve begun to step up my game: not only am I walking for at least 20 minutes each day, but I am also throwing in a 30-second plank every five minutes of walking.
I am so happy about my plank times: my average plank lasts 40 seconds! I can easily achieve a 60-second plank in the next few weeks.
I see those abs coming to light in my mind’s eye – dimly, of course. 2020, I’m ready for you. Bring on the muscles!
Bring it on.
