A few weeks ago, a YouTube dive introduced me to a concept I’d largely ignored: intuitive eating.
What comes to mind when you read that phrase? Some New Age philosophy glorifying the ego and elevating the mind into some blasphemous territory? Happily, no.
The idea behind intuitive eating is exercising common sense while practically enjoying every bite. Over the last few weeks, I’ve noticed that I gorge less. I’ve even forced myself to chew slowly (on occasion)! Maybe this could partly account for the fact that I’ve lost one pound since last week.
Anyway, in the process of learning to respect food, I’ve started to respect myself.
